My Media Creative est une agence de communication qui met en lumi\u00e8re les leaders, les organisations \u00e0 but non lucratif et les fondations qui \u0153uvrent en faveur de la justice climatique et des droits de l'homme. Il s'agit d'un groupe de militants qui utilisent les documentaires et la r\u00e9alisation de films comme outils d'\u00e9ducation et de mobilisation de masse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Il y a tant de gens qui font un travail crucial pour la justice climatique dans ce qu'on appelle actuellement le Canada, mais MMC comprend que la plupart de ce travail n'est pas vu - et peut-\u00eatre m\u00eame intentionnellement sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9. My Media Creative a connu des succ\u00e8s \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. Son partenaire le plus connu est Greenpeace Canada. En 2022, MMC a con\u00e7u des vid\u00e9os et des publicit\u00e9s pour les campagnes de Greenpeace appelant \u00e0 la protection de la biodiversit\u00e9 au niveau f\u00e9d\u00e9ral et demandant aux banques de retirer leur soutien aux projets de combustibles fossiles. En cons\u00e9quence, plus de 60 000 Canadiens ont sign\u00e9 <\/span>la p\u00e9tition de Greenpeace<\/span><\/span><\/a> demandant une loi sur la biodiversit\u00e9 forte.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ces documentaires abordent le mouvement climatique sous l'angle de l'individu. Les documentaires <\/span>sont<\/span><\/i> personnels : nous voyons les militants chez eux, en interaction avec des membres de leur famille, en train de regarder des photos d'enfance ou de parents qui les inspirent dans leur travail. Les t\u00e9l\u00e9spectateurs sont plong\u00e9s dans leur univers et se sentent li\u00e9s \u00e0 ces jeunes.<\/span><\/p>\n

We also see the leaders in their element \u2013 from wading through marshes at the Bay of Fundy to walking on the land that the Six Nations of the Grand River refused to cede. In every case, seeing these leaders' relationship with their communities helps connect us to their work, a feat that cannot be replicated in other forms of media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My Media Creative s'appuie sur un autre aspect essentiel qui fait chanter ses documentaires : le sentiment d'espoir. La peur et la col\u00e8re sont des \u00e9motions lucratives qui sont plus rapides \u00e0 invoquer. Une image ou une simple phrase peut nous inciter \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 un appel \u00e0 l'action, mais est-ce suffisant pour nous soutenir ? MMC aurait pu suivre cette voie, car il y a beaucoup de raisons d'\u00eatre en col\u00e8re lorsqu'il s'agit de la crise climatique, mais elle a plut\u00f4t choisi la voie plus difficile de l'espoir.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lorsque nous regardons un documentaire sur les guerriers du climat, nous ne voyons pas une montagne \u00e9crasante d'effroi et de lutte contre un adversaire insondable. Nous voyons simplement... une autre personne. Quelqu'un qui n'agit pas par peur, mais par <\/span>amour<\/span><\/i> - pour sa famille, sa communaut\u00e9, son environnement et l'avenir qu'il envisage.<\/span><\/p>\n

It shows the viewer what climate action looks like on an individual level. By showing what one person can do, the viewer can clearly see how their individual efforts can make an impact. It also shows us that climate action doesn't have to be scary or come from a place of hatred \u2013 a place that will lead activists to burn out. Instead, it can come from a place of love and hope. And it shows us that whatever we do, we are not doing it alone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
