Nous nous informons sur la science, l'\u00e9cologie et le fonctionnement de notre plan\u00e8te ; nous nous adressons aux gouvernements, aux entreprises et \u00e0 d'autres personnes ; nous \u00e9coutons les luttes de ceux qui vivent sur des continents lointains et de ceux qui habitent \u00e0 l'autre bout de la ville. Nous reconnaissons que la crise climatique d\u00e9passe de loin notre propre exp\u00e9rience, et c'est pourquoi nous nous tournons vers <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">l'ext\u00e9rieur<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pour \u00e9couter, apprendre et agir. Environ une fois par mois, une quinzaine d'\u00e9l\u00e8ves issus de diff\u00e9rents programmes s'installent dans la salle. Les tables sont garnies de mat\u00e9riel artistique - peintures et pinceaux, crayons et papier - mais les \u00e9l\u00e8ves prennent une tasse de caf\u00e9 ou de th\u00e9 fumant et un en-cas avant de s'asseoir. Dans cet espace calme, les conversations informelles sont encourag\u00e9es ou guid\u00e9es par un animateur ou animatrice, et chacun a la possibilit\u00e9 de parler de ce qu'il ressent. Parfois, ces discussions comprennent des questions pos\u00e9es par l'animateur ou l\u2019animatrice - <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab \u00c0 quoi ressemble un avenir meilleur ? \u00bb<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> - \u00e0 laquelle les \u00e9l\u00e8ves doivent r\u00e9pondre comme ils l'entendent, que ce soit par l'art, l'\u00e9criture ou une discussion plus pouss\u00e9e. Il existe sur le campus de nombreuses possibilit\u00e9s de s'informer sur le changement climatique - c'est en partie pour cette raison que le Climate Caf\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9. En classe, les \u00e9tudiant.e.s d\u00e9couvrent la science qui sous-tend la crise climatique, les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s qu'elle engendre dans le monde entier, les effets qu'elle produit d\u00e9j\u00e0 et ceux qui sont in\u00e9vitables. Ils prennent le poids de ce monde sur leurs \u00e9paules et passent directement au cours suivant avant d'avoir pu assimiler ce qu'ils ressentent. Le Climate Caf\u00e9 a vu le jour parce que les \u00e9tudiant.e.s n'avaient pas d'endroit o\u00f9 ils pouvaient exprimer leurs \u00e9motions en \u00e9tant soutenus et sans \u00eatre jug\u00e9s. Les \u00e9tudiant.e.s disent aussi que le Caf\u00e9 est un endroit o\u00f9 iels peuvent se reposer et se d\u00e9stresser de leur vie acad\u00e9mique. C'est une pause dans le travail scolaire - il n'y a pas de note de participation pour les discussions, et personne ne critique les peintures. Il existe tr\u00e8s peu d'espaces o\u00f9 les \u00e9tudiant.e.s de l'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur peuvent cr\u00e9er sans attente, mais demandez \u00e0 tous ceux qui sont all\u00e9s au Caf\u00e9 du climat et ils vous diront \u00e0 quel point cet espace leur est pr\u00e9cieux.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'intention s'\u00e9tend \u00e9galement au-del\u00e0 des sessions elles-m\u00eames. Les ressources du Climate Caf\u00e9 sont choisies avec soin, comme les fournitures artistiques de l'entreprise autochtone Beam Paints ou les livres publi\u00e9s par l'organisation de jeunes Shake Up the Establishment. Le Climate Caf\u00e9 continue d'ajouter de nouveaux aspects \u00e0 l'exp\u00e9rience et d'\u00e9lever les sessions tout en maintenant l'atmosph\u00e8re et la culture de soutien qui incitent les \u00e9tudiants \u00e0 revenir.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le stress, l'\u00e9puisement professionnel, l'anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 sont des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes communs aux \u00e9tudiant.e.s universitaires et aux militant.e.s pour le climat ; il n'est donc pas \u00e9tonnant que ceux qui appartiennent \u00e0 ces deux cat\u00e9gories puissent \u00eatre d\u00e9bord\u00e9s.
